On Saturday, May 10, 2025, supporters of the nationwide campaign “AfD ban now” will gather at the Alter Messplatz in Mannheim. The meeting point is at 17:30. The aim of the action is a joint photo with a banner, which is to be sent as a signal from Mannheim to other cities.

The flash mob is part of a nationwide weekend of action. The central demand: a ban on the AfD. The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution had classified the party as definitely right-wing extremist. The campaign refers to Article 21 of the Basic Law. This allows for a ban on parties that want to eliminate the free democratic basic order. It is up to the Bundestag, Bundesrat or federal government to initiate such proceedings.

The organizers call on people to bring their own signs. Friends and family are also welcome. Participation is possible without registration. The action will take place in the immediate vicinity of the Max-Joseph street festival, which will be held on the same day in the street of the same name next to Alter Messplatz.
