We give a speech at the “Never again is now!” demonstration in Schleswig.

Triggered by Correctiv's research into a secret meeting of right-wing extremist politicians, entrepreneurs and neo-Nazis, thousands of people took to the streets across Germany for several weeks at the beginning of the year - including in Schleswig. The aim of these demonstrations was to send a strong signal for diversity, openness and against right-wing extremism. The motto: Never again is now!

On the one hand, these demonstrations strengthened our own resolve; on the other, they were a clear call to all democratic parties to distance themselves from right-wing extremist positions and to defend democracy with the means at their disposal. This call was also heard for a short time. However, everyday politics and the internal and external crises seem to have pushed it out of people's minds again.

That is why we are once again taking to the streets to remind politicians of their mission - especially in view of the election campaign that has just started and the new elections due in February. We demand:

• Set your own issues instead of reproducing right-wing narratives!
• Make constructive policies instead of populism!
• Promote cohesion in society instead of dividing it further!
• Be role models and stand up for a colorful, diverse democracy in which minorities are not only protected in theory!

After a short opening rally, we will walk together, loudly and colorfully through the Stadtweg to the Gallberg and back again. Never again is still now!
