Call to action from "Bündnis gegen Rechts Heidenheim":

June 7 was supposed to be a Sunday for all citizens in Heidenheim. For over a year, local organizations had been planning the popular Schlossberg Adventure Day, an event that families especially look forward to.

Unfortunately, this year’s event was canceled because the state party convention of the AfD—a party with clear far-right ties—at the Congress Center made it unthinkable to hold a family festival in the immediate vicinity at the same time.

The venue was booked without hesitation, and as a result, the Schlossberg Adventure Day had to be canceled at the last minute.

We do not accept that a colorful, family-friendly day is being displaced by political provocation, exclusion, and intimidation. Heidenheim stands for diversity, democracy, and solidarity.

Our state is diverse! We celebrate—and we will not allow a party that is partially monitored by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution to operate unopposed in Heidenheim!

We have to forgo the event day, but we won’t forgo standing together and taking a clear stand in the spirit of democracy and freedom! And everyone can get involved however they can and want to!

• Large demonstration march “Our State Is Colorful! We Celebrate” starting at the train station, 10:00 a.m.
• “Five to Twelve” rally with music and speeches, Hugo-Rupf-Platz, 11:55 a.m.
