No cooperation with the far right - ban AfD now!

What millions of people have been repeatedly addressing & taking to the streets for a long time has now also been confirmed by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution: the AfD is right-wing extremist & anti-constitutional. The initiation of a ban procedure must be the logical consequence of this. The firewall can no longer be relied upon. Leading CDU politicians at federal and state level are calling for a more “normal” approach to right-wing extremists. Even in local politics & currently here in Halle, some politicians have no problem working with the AfD.

The state association of the AfD has been classified as proven right-wing extremist since 2023. The local media recently reported that the newly elected mayor, Dr Alexander Vogt, only crossed his “red lines” with regard to cooperation with the AfD in the city council when its members made discriminatory or sweeping statements. Otherwise, however, the head of the city council seems to regard the AfD as a party like any other. We strongly disagree with this.

The AfD aggressively attacks minorities & human rights. Their rhetoric & their program are a frontal attack on democracy & a diverse society. The consequences are devastating, for those affected & for a free society: for years, the number of cases at victim counseling centers for those affected by right-wing, racist, anti-Semitic violence has been rising; for years, the adoption of right-wing narratives & demands has not weakened the extreme right, but those they declare to be enemies. Anyone who is a member of this party also supports the inhuman, anti-democratic and inflammatory content - regardless of the political level.

That is why we demand: No cooperation with the extreme right - ban AfD now!
